Telehealth Therapy allows us to be interactive and for me to care for you even at a geographical distance. To those unfamiliar with telehealth, it is the use of electronic information and telecommunication technologies like our computers, the internet and our devices to support and promote long-distance clinical health care, patient and professional health-related education, public health and health administration. The two Telehealth approaches I offer are videoconferencing and telephone based.
With the internet being known to have glitches in its security, it is important that our sessions are as secure as possible. The safety of sensitive client information is extremely important to me. As such, all videoconferencing sessions take place on HIPAA compliant platforms who have a steady record of security. Facetime and Skype do not make the cut.
HIPAA stands for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. HIPPA is a federal law passed in 1996 laying out the standards for the safety of client information. The law covers a wide range of safety protocols, with its most well known being client confidentiality. I am fully committed to the standards and practices of HIPPA.
The videoconferencing platforms I am pleased to offer sessions on are ZOOM and DOXY ME. Their both easy is use, their both HIPAA compliant and they each have a great track record in terms of security.
